Both Norton Elementary and Middle School and
J. I. Burton High School celebrated Veterans Day with programs on November
11th. VFW member Ray Wells of Norton gave a short address to the
students telling about the sacrifices that all our veterans have made
through the years. A showing of the movie "Taking Chance" followed a
historical slide show about all American wars since the Revolution.
Several active duty servicemen as well as
veterans joined Norton Elementary and Middle School in dedicating the
school's new flag and pole, pictured at right. Students, staff and
several guests braved the blustery weather to mark the event. The
Burton Raider Band provided musical entertainment and performed the National
Anthem. |
