Twice a year, NEMS offers an "A.R.
Store" where students can spend points they have earned by reading
Accelerated Reader books and taking computer quizzes. Last
spring, students were given the opportunity to donate some of the
points they
earned to Habitat for Humanity. Our students rose to the
challenge and donated over one hundred dollars' worth of points to
help with the construction of a new house in Wise County.
Thanks to community sponsors Dr. William Horne, Ball Construction,
Greg Stewart's Law Office, Hagy and Fawbush Funeral Home, Dairy
Queen, Vic's Decorating, Ingles, Food City, Jody Spriggs, and Tom
& Deb Davis, as well as the Education Association of Norton, the
PTA, and the SCA for helping to make the A.R. Store possible. If
